SITECH Mid-Atlantic is proud to announce the graduation of four young students in 2020. Despite the extraordinary circumstances of this academic year, these high-achieving scholars have not let it dampen their awesome senior year experiences.
Krista Hendrick is the daughter of Bob Hendrick in the Sales Department in Western North Carolina and Raleigh. She is a highest honors graduate of AC Reynolds High School with a 4.35 GPA and a class rank of 36 out of 296. Krista has played Varsity Softball for 4 years in high school and has been playing since age six! As a player, she been recognized for 3 years as All Conference, 2 years as All Region, and 1 year as 1st Team in All Region and All State. She also won the Coaches Award in 2019 and MVP in 2020. Krista has participated in various roles throughout high school including Health Occupations Students of America, National Honor Society, Unity Club, Special Olympics Buddy, and volunteering at Pardee Hospital and the Salvation Army. She even managed to work part-time at Food Lion! Krista plans to attend UNC-Charlotte where she plans to major in Pre-Med.
Betsy Salisbury is the daughter of Paul Salisbury in the Service Department in the Charlotte office. Betsy is a graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School who has participated in various honor societies throughout her high school career including: Chi Alpha, Beta Club, National Technical Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society. She is active in her church, teaching Sunday School to kindergarten and first graders, and also volunteers at summer camps like Wings of Eagles Ranch and Winshape. She is also a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association and has a passion for ministering to children with special needs. Betsy plans to attend Rowan-Cabarrus Community College this fall with plans to transfer to UNC-Charlotte to pursue degrees in Psychology and Art.
Andy Raxter is the son of Becky Huskins in the Marketing Department in Charlotte. Andy is a graduate of Olympic High School in the Exceptional Children’s Department. An avid swimmer since a young age, Andy has participated in the Mecklenburg County Special Olympics in both swimming and bocce ball competitions. He also enjoys horse riding and has been a student at RideAbility Therapeautic Riding for the past five years. As a day and overnight camper, Andy has attended the Autism Society of North Carolina’s Camp Royall in Moncure and Mecklenburg County’s Therapeautic Recreation camps for the past ten years. Andy is a huge music fan, loves to attend live concerts and his favorite band is The Beatles!
Chelsea Burns is the daughter of Tina and Tim Burns in the Accounts Department of Charlotte. Chelsea is a summa cum laude graduate of NC State University with a degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology. As an NCSU student, Chelsea was a four-year member of the NC State Marching Band as a cymbal player and a percussionist in the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Bands. Through the University Scholars Program, she traveled to Seattle, British Columbia, the Bahamas and Paris, where she participated in the 75th Anniversary of D-Day Celebration. Chelsea plans to work at the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine in the Laboratory Animal Resources Department, alongside her big sister, Shannon. Chelsea also has the distinction of being a SITECH MA summer employee in 2017!
The entire staff of SITECH Mid-Atlantic would like to wish a heartfelt congratulations to these students, as well as their parents, in all of their achievements. May all their future endeavors be happy, healthy and as full of promise as they are!
