Western North Carolina Adventures with Fluor-United

An invitation to Fluor-United’s Safety Week luncheon was the perfect excuse to get the SITECH Mid-Atlantic team back out on the road.

Bob Hendrick, Territory Sales Representative, Becky Huskins, Marketing & PR, and Kyle Myers, GPS Specialist, made a great trio of information for Fluor-United employees as well as other subcontractors and vendors.  As the technology source on the I-26 Project in Asheville, SITECH MA was proud to install, train and support the Trimble Earthworks technology used on the site.

Fluor-United made sure all of their employees and visitors walked away with a prize item and a great lunch.  The happy SITECH Mid-Atlantic prize-winner took home this awesome RTic Cooler.  Other prizes were provided by vendors such as 3M, United Rentals, Cintas, Caterpillar and more.

Jennifer, a Fluor-United employee, won the day with this awesome t-shirt expressing the sentiment of essential employees during the Pandemic.  The I-26 project, like many other road projects across the state, roared on throughout 2020 with great success.

Next stop on this Western NC tour was a new home construction site in Buncombe County.  At this height above the Appalachian tree-line, this base station was reading 24 satellites.  Not bad at all!  Kyle gives the rover and data collector some attention across several data points on the site.

The vistas from this exclusive Asheville neighborhood create a spectacular view of the Appalachians.  On a day like this, it’s easy to see why they are nicknamed “The Blue Ridge” Mountains.

It was a little difficult for Becky and Kyle to leave such beautiful surroundings, but they managed to get back on the road with the official SITECH Mascot, Penny the Cow! There was even a bear cub siting near the job site!  Many thanks and congratulations to Fluor-United on their safety event and much envy to our customers and vendors in the Western part of the great state of North Carolina!

Great Time at Faulconer Construction’s Field Days!

SITECH Mid-Atlantic team members recently joined Carter Machinery for Faulconer Construction’s Employee Field Day.  It was a cold but lovely Virginia day where many Faulconer employees enjoyed seeing and experimenting with new Trimble and Spectra products.

Michael Stellato and John Stellato, representing our Chesapeake office, spoke with Faulconer employees and answered questions about various instruments and programs including Trimble’s TSC7, Propeller Aero drones and the newest models of Spectra Lasers like the DG813 pipe laser.

Michael Carris, Trimble Product Manager, demonstrated the new Trimble SiteVision product.  Launched in late 2019, SiteVision offers an augmented reality tool to the site project.  Training is available on this new technology to your team.

SiteWorks was also a popular product of discussion along with other Trimble software products like Business Center and Trimble Stratus.  Product demonstrations and training are available to all customers who purchase and want to learn more about these programs from our SITECH Mid-Atlantic staff.

Training with Your SITECH Team

While training classes can be scheduled any time throughout the year, is there really ever a better time than the winter season?  Cold and dreary weather may slow down your job site, but it doesn’t have to stop your crews’ ability to learn and grow.

We can travel to the area and find accommodations that best suit your team.  This recent training was completed at the Caterpillar training campus in Clayton, NC.  With indoor classrooms, a large auditorium, and several food and beverage options, the Clayton facility is wonderfully hospitable home to learning.  Our SITECH MA guys can work with large and small groups indoors and out and meet the needs your company is looking for in education for your crew.

SPS training?  Help with your new TSC7?  A visit on the site?  If it’s in our three state region of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia our specialists and technicians can make it happen for your team!  We also provide the literature, manuals, videos, and follow-up to keep the benefits going long after the training day is over.

Does one-on-one work better for you?  Our GPS Specialists even take time to do solo work with crew members on platforms like Business Center and various utility and take-off programs.  This approach allows ample time for questions and explanations and works particularly well for new users and operators.

To learn more about training availability, scheduling and how your team can benefit from our classes, email us today at info@sitechma.com and start a conversation!

Another Successful Southern Farm Show!

Our SITECH Mid-Atlantic team had a great time at the Southern Farm Show this past week in Raleigh.  The NC State Fairgrounds always has a great show full of wonderful exhibits and vendors.  We made some new friends, met some cool new customers and had fun with our drone!
