Sitech MA to Participate in Lowcountry Red Trout Classic
In 1988, with the help of friends, and baseball legend Ted Williams, Gary Ellis founded the now famous Redbone Celebrity Tournament Series to help the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation help support research needed to find a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF). Over the last 20 years, the Redbone has developed into a high profile event raising ten million dollars in the fight against cystic fibrosis. The Lowcountry Red*Trout Celebrity Classic is a two-day catch and release tournament for redfish and trout in the shallow waters off the coast of Charleston, South Carolina.
Teams are made up of an angler and celebrity or two anglers, guided as a team by local professional fishing captains. The event also features a Captain's Dinner and Auction, dockside party and awards reception. Not only do the tournament participants enjoy good food, fishing and fun – they are a part of the camaraderie and competition of the special group of anglers, guides, and celebrities who are helping to “Catch the Cure” for cystic fibrosis.
