Western North Carolina Adventures with Fluor-United

An invitation to Fluor-United’s Safety Week luncheon was the perfect excuse to get the SITECH Mid-Atlantic team back out on the road.

Bob Hendrick, Territory Sales Representative, Becky Huskins, Marketing & PR, and Kyle Myers, GPS Specialist, made a great trio of information for Fluor-United employees as well as other subcontractors and vendors.  As the technology source on the I-26 Project in Asheville, SITECH MA was proud to install, train and support the Trimble Earthworks technology used on the site.

Fluor-United made sure all of their employees and visitors walked away with a prize item and a great lunch.  The happy SITECH Mid-Atlantic prize-winner took home this awesome RTic Cooler.  Other prizes were provided by vendors such as 3M, United Rentals, Cintas, Caterpillar and more.

Jennifer, a Fluor-United employee, won the day with this awesome t-shirt expressing the sentiment of essential employees during the Pandemic.  The I-26 project, like many other road projects across the state, roared on throughout 2020 with great success.

Next stop on this Western NC tour was a new home construction site in Buncombe County.  At this height above the Appalachian tree-line, this base station was reading 24 satellites.  Not bad at all!  Kyle gives the rover and data collector some attention across several data points on the site.

The vistas from this exclusive Asheville neighborhood create a spectacular view of the Appalachians.  On a day like this, it’s easy to see why they are nicknamed “The Blue Ridge” Mountains.

It was a little difficult for Becky and Kyle to leave such beautiful surroundings, but they managed to get back on the road with the official SITECH Mascot, Penny the Cow! There was even a bear cub siting near the job site!  Many thanks and congratulations to Fluor-United on their safety event and much envy to our customers and vendors in the Western part of the great state of North Carolina!
